Strategic Partner - National Fire Protection Association
The NFPA was organized in 1896 to reduce the burden of fire and other hazards on the quality of life by providing and advocating codes and standards, research and education. The NFPA was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in Massachusetts in 1930, and it continues to operate out of Quincy, MA, a suburb of Boston. NFPA has over 67,000 voluntary, dues paying members. NFPA's principal sources of revenues, which exceed $60 million annually, come from membership dues, seminar fees, publication subscriptions and the sale of training materials. The majority of NFPA's members are in the United States; however, the organization has an international influence with members from Canada and 95 other nations.
In August 2000, TargetSafety and the NFPA signed a strategic partnership and co-marketing agreement. The NFPA focuses its marketing efforts on four industry sectors where it has significant contact with and influence over employers: the fire service, electrical contractors, aviation employers, and healthcare providers. The NFPA markets directly to employers in other industry sectors and TargetSafety provides follow up and sales support. Based upon the Company's success and the growth in web-based training, in May 2001, the NFPA became the lead investor in TargetSafety's Series A financing. TargetSafety is authorized to use the NFPA's logo as an endorsement on its marketing materials, its web site, and the course content.
In the NFPA's 108 year history, TargetSafety is the only organization licensed to display the NFPA logo.
