Moneyball Book Cover

PowerPooling is a unique C-Level strategic program that grew out of the principals outlined in Michael Lewis' National Bestselling book on major league baseball, Moneyball.

Moneyball is an entertaining and wonderful book about baseball, but it also serves as an important case study for public entity risk pool executives. The parallels between major league baseball and public entity risk pool industry today is unmistakable.

As an industry leader and innovator in of public entity risk pool solutions, TargetSafety is working closely with risk pool executives to implement new strategies and programs that bring more value to pool members, reduce claims and claim expenses, and create a more competitive pool for the long term.

PowerPooling: No Cost - No Obligation Program

PowerPooling is based upon TargetSafety's experience working with risk pools and pool executives as well as its 2007 benchmark White Paper, "Use of Online Technology by the Public Entity Pooling Industry". TargetSafety is uniquely positioned to assess existing technology strategies, provide a comparison against the most innovative offerings today, and highlight major strategic opportunities to drive more value for both the risk pool and its members.

Phase I - Strategic Assessment

PowerPooling starts with a top down strategic assessment of your risk pool's strengths and weaknesses in delivering second-generation value added services to your members. This also includes an overview of practices employed by risk pool executives across the country as well as a view of the future based upon the results of TargetSafety's 2007 risk pool white paper.

Phase II - Member Assessment (Optional)

TargetSafety uses online tools to deliver a customized and focused survey for the pool members. This survey is branded with the risk pools logo and is sent via the pool itself to each member. This survey is designed to identify the members' needs and technological competency. Prioritized and specific recommendations result from this membership data.

Phase III - Strategic Plan Development (Optional)

A customized technology and member service strategic plan will be designed to bring specific value-added, cost effective online programs to the members. NOTE: TargetSafety will provide a proposal for its services only if requested by the risk pools itself.

Phase IV - Board Participation (Optional)

A shorter "director-level" program will be designed to solicit board input into the strategic planning process and gain consensus on key elements for future delivery to the members.
