OTHER BACK EXERCISES

There are several exercises that can relieve back pain.

These exercises can be performed even in the workplace.

upright sit stretch

Upright sit stretch

Sit in your chair and sit as tall as you can. Stretch your arms above your head as far as possible and lean slowly to the right side, then to the left side. Come back to the center position before releasing your arms.

 

knee-to-chin

Knee-to-chin

Sit with your back straight. Gently grasp one knee and pull it towards your chin while keeping your back straight and only bending as much as necessary. Hold for a count of 10 and relax, then repeat with the other leg.

 

simple standing stretches

Simple standing stretches

Stand tall, head held high, press against your lower back as you push your chin backwards causing you to slightly arch your back.  Stand tall and reach out with your hands to either side. Face your palms outward and raise your hands slowly above your head.

 

upper body twist

Upper body twist

Sit straight in your chair and cross one leg over the other. Use your opposite arm to hold your leg in place while turning your upper body as if turning to look at your back. Hold for a count of 10 and relax, then repeat to the other side.

 

Just a few exercises daily can help prevent and reduce back pain, stress and tension.
