Lifting some objects requires special help.

Lifting overhead:man carrying a box

  • Places an extra strain on your back.
  • When you lift overhead, try to lift lighter loads.
  • Spread your feet for firm footing or get a ladder.
  • If you are having difficulty, then GET HELP.

Warehouse or storeroom work:

  • Do not throw boxes.
  • Do not work to excess fatigue.
  • Do not work too quickly.
  • Avoid twisting and turning while lifting.
  • Do not try to reach for materials at varying heights.
REMEMBER TO ALWAYS KEEP THE LOAD CLOSE TO YOUR BODY WHEN LIFTING OBJECTS. NEVER LIFT AN OBJECT THAT YOU CAN'T SAFELY LIFT - GET HELP.
