Anticipate Hazards

Look ahead - see brake lights well ahead of your position, be aware of the traffic immediately ahead and objects that may be in the road.

Keep Your Eyes Moving

Scan the road, check your mirrors and look for pedestrians, bikers, joggers, children, etc.

Drive Defensively

Know the specific ways to handle potentially dangerous situations.

Act in Time

Respond quickly to a situation; do not take a "wait and see" attitude.

Maintain Distance

Allow yourself and your vehicle 3-6 seconds to respond to situations; leave yourself enough distance to stop.
