OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEMS

Most states legally require safety belts at all times. Most employers require the use of safety belts when operating a vehicle on company business.individual fastening his or her seatbelt

As the driver of the vehicle, it is your responsibility to make sure that:

  • The safety belts in the vehicle are fully functional and there is a belt for each passenger.
  • No one has tampered with the airbag restraints if the vehicle is equipped with them.
  • All passengers have appropriate protective equipment. For example, using properly fastened and fitted protective helmets, suitable eye protection and appropriate protective clothing (long sleeve shirt, full length pants and shoes or boots), if a two-wheel motorized vehicle is used for company business.
