OCCUPANT
RESTRAINT SYSTEMS
Most states legally require safety belts at all times. Most employers
require the use of safety belts when operating a vehicle on company
business.
As the driver of the vehicle, it is your responsibility to make sure
that:
- The safety belts in the vehicle are fully functional and there
is a belt for each passenger.
- No one has tampered with the airbag restraints if the vehicle
is equipped with them.
- All passengers have appropriate protective equipment. For example,
using properly fastened and fitted protective helmets, suitable
eye protection and appropriate protective clothing (long sleeve
shirt, full length pants and shoes or boots), if a two-wheel motorized
vehicle is used for company business.
