Sexual Harassment - Summary

Summaryman touching woman inappropriately

Sexual harassment is unwanted and offensive sexual advances or sexually derogatory and discriminatory remarks made in the workplace. These can include crude sexual comments or jokes. All sexual harassment charges are extremely serious. An employee's acceptance of unwelcome sexual advances does not remove any liability from the employer or person responsible for the harassment. Men and women are both susceptible to sexual harassment.

If you believe you have seen or experienced any forms of unlawful harassment, whether directed to you or another person, document and report it to a supervisor, a corporate officer or the human resources department as soon as possible. Your company's sexual harassment policy and/or human resource department can provide you with the procedural steps used in reporting an incident. An accurate and detailed record is essential to a sexual harassment complaint. It is recommended that you keep all sexual harassment charges confidential.

Sexual harassment is not acceptable in any work environment. Employees have a right to a safe and healthful workplace free of workplace harassment of any kind.
